Restore natural shine and long-lasting protection

Dougra Services restores worn marble and other calcite-based stones to a clear, reflective finish. Our specialists remove traffic wear, scratches, and etch marks, then finish the surface with diamond polishing and, where suitable, crystallization to harden the top layer and enhance gloss. Work is carried out with water-controlled, professional machines to keep your space clean and safe.

Where this service applies

Lobbies and corridors, apartments and villas, staircases, elevator landings, washroom vanities, reception counters, walls and skirting.
We service marble, limestone, travertine, terrazzo (and most engineered marble). Granite and quartz have different restoration methods—ask our team.

When you need it

How we restore your stone

1) Inspection & test area

We check the stone type, current finish, and damage level. A test patch sets the expected result and the right sequence of abrasives.

2) Deep cleaning & stain/etch treatment

We remove embedded soil and treat localized stains/etching. Joints and corners receive manual attention.

3) Honing (scratch removal / flattening)

Using graded diamond abrasives, we level micro-scratches and traffic wear. If requested, we can perform lippage removal to flatten uneven tiles.

4) Polishing to the desired sheen

Resin-bond diamond pads refine the surface to satin, semi-gloss, or high-gloss. The finish is even, clear, and reflection-true.

5) Crystallizing (when appropriate)

A controlled fluorosilicate reaction hardens the top layer and boosts clarity, especially for high-traffic areas. Not every stone needs it—our technicians choose what’s best for your material.

6) Sealing & protection

A penetrating sealer helps resist stains without changing the natural look. Optional anti-slip treatment for wet areas and edge/stair polishing are available.

Preparation & aftercare

Before we arrive: please clear small furniture/rugs and provide access to power and water. We can help move heavier items by arrangement.

After completion: avoid foot traffic for 2–4 hours (depends on sealer used). Use pH-neutral stone cleaner, felt pads under furniture, and avoid acidic products (vinegar, lemon, harsh descalers). With proper care, shine typically lasts 12–24 months in homes and less in heavy-traffic sites—ask about our maintenance plan.

Polishing mechanically refines the stone with diamond abrasives to restore clarity and smoothness. Crystallizing is a chemical reaction that hardens the top layer and increases gloss. We often combine both, depending on the stone and traffic level.

Yes—through honing and, if required, grinding/lippage removal. Very deep gouges, chips, or cracks may need filling or localized repairs, which we can provide.

No. Most steps are wet processes with slurry containment and vacuum recovery. We protect adjacent areas and maintain ventilation; odors are minimal and dissipate quickly.

A typical apartment or lobby zone takes 1 day; larger areas or heavy restoration may require more time or night work. With proper cleaning and mats, the finish can last 12–24 months in homes; high-traffic commercial spaces benefit from periodic crystallizing/maintenance polishing.
